Mr. Phillip Michael Canada, age 66, of Cleveland, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2025.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday, August 28, 2025 at Memorial Park Riverside Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, August 29, 2025 at Memorial Park Riverside Chapel with interment to follow at Belton Baptist Church Cemetery in Lula.
Phillip was born on May 18, 1959 in Gainesville, Georgia. He was the son of the late Rev. Harmon Michael Canada and Shirley Annette (Pierce) Canada.
Phillip graduated from North Hall High School in the class of 1977. He began working at the age of 14 starting with Greenways Grocery and then moved on to Winn Dixie, Deep South, Coastal Supply, Climate Supply, Total Supply and finally owned Gainesville Appliance Parts. He loved cutting grass and had a passion for antique cars. Phillip always had a wonderful smile and enjoyed teasing people. He had a big heart for helping others and will surely be missed in the days ahead.
He is survived by his children Mandi Philyaw (Cale) and Danielle Murphy (Jeffrey); grandchildren Taylor, Jake, Cullen and Neelia; brother Paul (Beth) Canada; sister Angela (Michael) Pritchard; special nephew Micah along with several nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind a special friend Janie Gilstrap who loved him dearly and stayed by his side until the end. Additionally, he is survived by aunts Gloria (Canada) Aultman and Bobbie (Pierce) Slaton.
