In Loving Memory of Gary Alan Pinkerton
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” (2 Timothy 4:7)
Gary Alan Pinkerton, at the age of 72, from Carleton Place, Ontario, was welcomed into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 6, 2026. He is survived by his devoted wife Donna Pinkerton (Button), daughter Sarah Lancaster (Pinkerton), and son-in-law Tim Lancaster.
Born and raised in Terrace Bay, Ontario to Garnet and Jean Pinkerton on October 18, 1954, he was the middle brother of Lorne (Judy and family) and David Pinkerton. After moving to Ottawa for college, he met his future wife in November 1975. They married on August 12, 1978, moved to Carleton Place in March 1979 on Pattie Drive, and welcomed their daughter Sarah on January 18, 1985.
Throughout his life, Gary was involved in his community through his Dad’s Watercraft Rentals. He enjoyed curling, driving seniors around town, tutoring students, and hosting international visitors. Since 1982, he attended Calvary Pentecostal Church where he participated in various ministries and went on mission trips to Grenada over the past 44 years. People knew him as Mr. P. He worked in IT until retiring in 2008 due to muscular dystrophy but maintained a positive outlook for the rest of his life.
A proud honorary Newfoundlander, Gary loved spending time with Donna’s family while exploring her home province. He was fortunate enough to travel across all ten Canadian provinces as well as a third of the states in the U. S., along with visiting Grenada six times.
Gary showed unwavering love for his wife Donna over their remarkable fifty years together and was an amazing father to Sarah. His friends knew him for his friendly demeanor; he remained a loyal friend until the end. Now that Gary Pinkerton has passed away peacefully into Heaven’s embrace as a Pinkerton Detective Agent serving God while discovering life’s mysteries.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to his Personal Support Workers from Bayshore Health Care along with staff at Carleton Place & District Memorial Hospital for their caring assistance during this time. We also appreciate all the wonderful family members and friends who visited him during his final days.
