We are heartbroken to share that Devin Corey Orcutt passed away on July 9, 2025, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, surrounded by his family.

Devin was born in Edmonton, AB, on November 18, 1974, to Terry Orcutt and Carol (Sletto) Zinck. He was a loving partner to Kim (Findlay) Orcutt for 23 years and they got married in 2015.

Devin was a caring son and husband, as well as a proud grandfather. He had a big heart and thrived in the structured life of the military. At just 14, he joined the Army Cadets and dedicated most of his working life to serving his country. After high school, he became a mechanic in the Army before moving to Intelligence Operations (IntOp) with the Air Force. He completed a tour in Afghanistan but had to retire due to medical issues.

During his retirement years, Devin enjoyed spending time with friends and family. They knew they could always rely on him for help or advice, often delivered with his signature bluntness that made everyone laugh. His generosity stood out; he would go out of his way for those he cared about. He filled his days chatting online with friends and playing MRPG games. He also loved hosting Dungeons and Dragons sessions with both new and old friends. Horror movies were a favorite shared activity with Kim during their regular date nights. And he absolutely adored his cats Jensen, Rue, Lilith, and Taran, spoiling them just a little too much.

Devin had such a generous heart and it’s tragic that it failed him. We will hold onto our memories of him with as much love as he showed us all. He will be greatly missed.

Alongside Kim, Devin is survived by his mother Carol Zinck; father Terry Orcutt; mother-in-law Margaret Findlay; step-daughter Meghann McMurray (Ian), whom he loved like family; granddaughter Brookelynn, who he called Papa’s Little Rose; sister Megan Orcutt; step-brother Carl Zinck; along with many friends. He was predeceased by stepfather Gerry Zinck and father-in-law Thomas Findlay.

Arrangements are handled by Fundy Funeral Home at 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424). Following Corey’s wishes, there will be no services held after cremation takes place. The family appreciates any memorial donations made in his name to Wounded Warriors of Canada, the Heart & Stroke Foundation or any charity of choice.
