We are saddened to share the news of Ernest Morrison Mark’s passing, who lived in Orillia, Ontario. He died on January 31, 2026, at the age of 97.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 72 years, Lillian (née Russell), and his eldest son, Russell (Celena). He will be fondly remembered by his children: Lynda (Michael), Brian (Laurie), David (Lynn), and Rob (Sandra).
Ernie was a grandfather to 10, great-grandfather to 14, and great-great-grandfather to 4. His nieces, nephews, and extended family will also remember him.
In 1955, Ernie and Lillian moved to Orillia where they raised their family in their home. He lived there until he passed away. Ernie worked as a mechanic and an Automotive Service Manager locally. He dedicated many years to Thor Motors and later worked for the Orillia Water Light and Power until retiring in 1990.
Even towards the end of his life, he always had projects underway. Ernie enjoyed tinkering with mechanical things and would take on building tasks of all sizes.
His family meant everything to him. Throughout his life, he held strong beliefs and values. He had a solid work ethic that he instilled in his children.
Cremation has taken place. Arrangements were made with Carson Funeral Homes L. Doolittle Chapel, 54 Coldwater St. E., Orillia (705) 326-3595.
