To the world, she may have been one person-but to us, she was our world.
It is with great sadness that Lorna’s family announces her peaceful passing on Thursday, February 12, 2026, in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, after a long illness, surrounded by her loving family.
Lorna was the heart and anchor of our family-a guiding light whose warmth and kindness touched everyone she met. Her laughter was contagious, her hugs were comforting, and her love knew no bounds. She had a wonderful ability to make others feel valued and appreciated. Whether through a kind word, a thoughtful gesture, or just being there for someone, Lorna brought happiness into many lives.
She loved her family deeply and took great pride in each member. Lorna is fondly remembered by her devoted husband, Alex, with whom she shared 63 years of love and partnership. She was a beloved mother to her daughters Traci (Jerry) and Heather (Dave), as well as Christianne (Jim), who she embraced like a daughter. Her dear grandson Nicolas (Daniela) held a special place in her heart; their bond brought her so much joy.
Lorna is also survived by her sisters Margaret (late Ted) and Lyn (Robert), along with her brother Charles (Kathy). She enjoyed a close relationship with her siblings and cherished the time they spent together over the years-whether at family gatherings or during girls’ trips filled with laughter. Those moments were incredibly meaningful to her. She was also an adored aunt and great-aunt to many nieces and nephews and shared lasting friendships-especially with Dolores and Gayle.
Lorna lived a life marked by compassion, generosity, and unwavering love for those around her. Even in her final days, she focused on those she loved rather than herself. That selflessness truly defined who she was-always putting others first. Her spirit of kindness, resilience, humor, and love will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
In line with Lorna’s wishes, there will be no formal services. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice in memory of Lorna. Arrangements are entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd., 705-945-7758). Fond memories and expressions of sympathy can be offered at www. northwoodfuneral. com
We will miss you dearly, Mou-and we will carry your love with us always.
