Kevin Sylvester Wren of Pine Valley passed away peacefully after a brief stay in Pembroke Regional Hospital, surrounded by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, in his 98th year. Kevin will be greatly missed by his children Mary Mac Farlane (Kevin), Leann Selle (Keith), Linda Rozak (Brian), Jimmie (Karen Miller), Paul (Kelly Ball), Ted (Julie Potvin), and Lisa Mitchell (Chris). He is also survived by 23 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. His sisters Mary Schimmens (late Mervin), Clare Terre (late Adolph), Kaireen Knott (late Gary), and sister-in-law Marcia Timm will also miss him. Kevin was predeceased by his wife Catherine (nee O’Kane – 1995) and close friend Joyce Bennett – 2023, as well as his children Patti (Steven) Eckford – 1999, Basil (Danielle Judd) – 2022, Stephen (Pattylyn Childerhose) – 2004, and grandson Patrice Wren – 2018. He was also preceded in death by his parents Lennox and Florence (Mc Gaghran) Wren, along with siblings Joseph (late Vicki), Mark “Mac” (late Teresa), James (late Ruth), J. F. (late Evelyn), Basil (late Kathy), and Arnold (late Willis). Additionally, he is predeceased by his in-laws Bernadette Forester (late Dennis), Helen Bolger (late Harold), Jean Sinclair (late Carl), Arnold O’Kane (late Celine), Marguerite Mc Intyre (late Des), and Kevin O’Kane (late Olive). The family wishes to thank Laurie and her team at Caressent Care for the kindness and compassion shown to our Dad. We also appreciate the support from the staff on Medical 3rd Floor at Pembroke Regional Hospital during this tough time. Family and friends may visit Fraser Morris Heubner Funeral Home Cobden Ontario on Friday April 24, 2026 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm, with visitation Saturday from 9:30 until 10:15 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Pius V Roman Catholic Church Osceola Ontario at 11:00 am on Saturday April 25, 2026.
