Kevin James Worrall (September 26, 1959 – April 24, 2026)

Kevin Worrall from Weston, Ontario, passed away unexpectedly in Brampton, Ontario on Friday, April 24, 2026 due to a heart issue. He was born on September 26, 1959 to Albert Edward Worrall and Anne Marie Worrall née Buckman, being the second of six siblings (Craig, Kevin, Terry, Keith, Jimmy, Sue).

His passing is a surprise since he was a strong fighter who had faced colorectal cancer and overcame it. Kevin also experienced a near-death incident in his youth from a blood infection caused by breaking his foot while playing hockey at an outdoor rink. His determination was well-known and shown when he broke his leg during a men’s league hockey game but chose not to take time off work from the high school where he taught; instead opting to continue with a brace and crutches.

Kevin loved engaging in various hobbies like hockey, guitar playing, exercising and of course motorcycling. He was also quite an artist; once he painted a mural of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as a gift for one of his sons all from memory.

After finishing grade 12 in 1977, Kevin joined the Canadian Navy. He served for 23 years and was part of the First Gulf War. During this time he discovered his passion for connecting with young people through roles in Canadian Forces Recruiting and with the Royal Canadian Sea Cadets. This led him to pursue teaching at the secondary level. He completed his education at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) and spent his entire teaching career at Heart Lake Secondary School in Brampton where he formed many friendships with students and staff as their teacher, colleague, mentor and coach.

His love for motorcycles prompted him to start working with the Canadian Motorcycle Association in 1999. Having been an enthusiastic motorcyclist since adolescence and a fan of Moto GP-his favorite racer being Kenny Roberts-he supported Yamaha throughout his life. Eventually becoming Chief Instructor of their rider training program at the Canadian Motorcycle Association in Hamilton.

On July 19, 1980 at Blessed Sacrament Parish in Toronto, Ontario, Kevin wed Joan Mary Campbell Nicol. At the time of his death they had shared life together for over five decades and were about to celebrate their upcoming wedding anniversary after nearly46 years together.

Kevin leaves behind his wife Joan along with sons Christopher (wife Nathalie) and Trevor as well as dogs Buddy, Maggie and Jumanji plus family members colleagues students friends who all mourn him deeply.
