With heavy hearts, we share the news of the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.
John Young left us on December 16, 2025 at St. Joseph’s Hospice, surrounded by his loving family.
John dedicated 36 years of his life to working at Great Lakes Paper Mill. After retirement, he served as a custodian at St. Andrews R. C Church for 8 years.
Summers were special for John as he enjoyed spending time at camp with his family. He had a passion for fishing, golfing, taking walks, riding his bike, enjoying breakfast at the casino and running.
He was preceded in death by his parents and most of his siblings.
John was a caring husband to Jean Young and stepfather to Noel Ducharme. He was also a father to Tanya (Matt) Demerse and a proud grandfather to Ethan (Raylene) Mioduszewski, Keely Demerse (Kameron Currie), Hayden Demerse, Ryelee Demerse, Arabella Demerse and Kerah Demerse. Additionally, he was a great grandfather to Alice and Cassian. John cherished being a brother to Gary (Sandy) Young and Bob (Audrey) Young along with many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will take place on January 15, 2026 at 10 am at St. Andrew’s R. C. Church.
A viewing is scheduled for 9 a. m.
Internment will occur at a later date.
