Gregory Chepelsky, aged 66, who lived in Terrace Bay, Ontario, passed away peacefully at Wilkes Terrace Long Term Care on August 26, 2026. He was the son of Micheal and Alice Chepelsky, both of whom predeceased him. He is survived by his wife Janice, his brothers Mike (Rachel), Glenn (Paula), and Dave (Sue), along with his sister Kristine.
Greg worked as a millwright for Inco/Vale and retired after 25 years in 2015. He was a friendly person who enjoyed spending time outdoors. His favorite place was his camp where he liked to cut wood and go boating. Known as a “Mr. Fix it,” he often found creative solutions to repair or repurpose things. Greg also enjoyed visiting the Terrace Bay Seniors Centre to play cards, darts, pool, and chat with fellow seniors.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be organized at a later date. Donations may be directed to Wilkes Terrace, c/o Mc Causland Hospital (20B Cartier Rd., Terrace Bay, Ont.) or to a charity of your choice.
