Gregory Alexander Roy passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at his home on Lake Joseph. He was 73 years old. He was preceded in death by his mother, Catherine Roy, and father, Wallace Roy. He is survived by his brother Rob Roy (Bend, Oregon) and adult children Tosch Roy and Zoe Roy (Bend, Oregon), along with his brother Larry Roy (Oakville, Ontario) and Madeline Hargreaves Roy and their adult children Andrea Roy (Boca Raton, FL), Geoffrey Roy (Oakville, Ontario), Elizabeth Roy Gulledge (Collingwood, Ontario), and Meredith Roy Matthews (Toronto, Ontario). Greg is also remembered by his close Muskoka community of neighbors and friends including Robbie, John, Bill, Gary, Massey, Cindy, Sue and Ann.

For Greg, life was a constant adventure. He was always looking for new experiences in unique places. His career paths included being a motor-coach driver along the Whistler/Vancouver Sea to Sky Highway; an independent motor-coach tour guide in Western Canada and the Maritimes; a private investigator in Toronto; a whitewater raft guide on the Ottawa River and New River (USA); an executive assistant in Sacramento California; and a general contractor in Muskoka Ontario. Greg loved finding remote areas to make his home like Vancouver Island, Lake Joseph Muskoka and Cape Breton Island.

Visitation will be held at Reynolds Funeral Home located at 1 Mary St., Bracebridge on Thursday June 18 from 1 – 3 pm. Greg’s ashes will be interred at Christ Church – Gregory Cemetery in Minett Ontario around mid-July.

Memorial donations to Sick Kids Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
