Grant Terry Gingara, 56 of Warman, SK, Canada, died January 30, 2025, after a protracted battle with most cancers. He was born on February 7, 1968, to Betty (Elizabeth) and Terry Gingara in Nipawin, SK.
Grant convocated with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the College of Saskatchewan. He began in Alberta working for Kenonic Controls in Calgary, then for BCP in Saskatoon after which MPE Engineering in Lethbridge. Then again to Saskatchewan to work for a couple of consulting corporations in Saskatoon – Related Engineering, AMEC Americas, and Stantec. Then Grant left the consulting engineering sector and joined Mosaic Potash in Esterhazy. After a few years at Mosaic, he began with BHP Mining in Saskatoon.
Volunteering and mentoring have been so essential to Grant. In 2023 he obtained the Fellow of Engineer’s Canada designation. This nationwide award from Engineers Canada was given to Grant due to his distinctive contributions and volunteerism to the engineering career in Canada. Grant was an energetic volunteer and previous Chair with the APEGS Self-discipline Committee and a volunteer with APEGS mentorship program. He was a volunteer with the Canadian Requirements Affiliation (CSA) for over twenty years taking part on a number of subcommittees for the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and is a contributor listed within the Canadian Electrical Code in 3 sections #14, 22 and 75. Grant was nominated for Dalhousie College’s engineering mentor of the yr in 2016.
He married Michelle Quintin on September 25, 1999, and so they had 2 kids, Amelia and Alexander.
He was a really personal, mental, and reserved man. He was very mechanically inclined and beloved RVing, engaged on his 1962 Dodge Dart Convertible, Dodge Ram vehicles, and Dodge Nitro. He was a really useful man and will repair something.
Grant is survived by his spouse Michelle, two kids Amelia and Alexander, mom Betty (Bob), uncle Paul, aunt Helen, aunt Joanne, cousin Garnet, uncle Don and aunt Beverly.
He was preceded in loss of life by his dad Terry, uncle Fred, grandparents, and lots of aunts and uncles.
Funeral Service might be February 7, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Martens Funeral Residence, 402 Central Avenue West, in Warman, SK, Canada, to rejoice his life and his birthday. Grant might be cremated and won’t be buried per his request. He didn’t need to be chilly.
