With heavy hearts and great sadness, the family of George Burns shares the news of his unexpected passing on June 18, 2025, at the age of 63. He died at Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh, surrounded by love from his wife Bonita, brother Tim, and sister-in-law Kris.

Born on September 8, 1961, George was the son of Richard and Marie (Petersen) Burns. After graduating high school, he took some college courses before starting a long career that lasted 25 years at Goodwill Industries as Vice President of Facilities. There, he played a key role in expanding new stores and programs throughout Northeastern Wisconsin. Later on, George joined his brother Tim in real estate development and construction at Goodlife assisted living.

George married his loving wife Bonita on March 8, 2003. They exchanged vows in Newfoundland, Canada. Together they built their life in Oshkosh, Wisconsin while cherishing trips back to see family in Canada. Their bond was exceptional; they were best friends who were always together.

Known for having a big heart, George was loved by all who knew him. He was always ready to help out and had a knack for fixing things. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles, playing cards with friends, and occasional visits to the casino. His smile was contagious; he spread kindness wherever he went and will be deeply missed by everyone.

George is survived by his wife Bonita; brothers Tim (Kris), Scott (Kelly); children Michael and Matthew; mother-in-law Geraldine Hatcher; brothers-in-law Danny Hatcher (Ellen), Derrick Hatcher (Janice); sisters-in-law Yvonne Riles (Henry), Tracy Rose (Gord), Darlene Hatcher along with many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents Richard and Marie; father-in-law Alex Hatcher as well as brothers-in-law Charlie and Leonard Hatcher.

A memorial service for George will take place on Thursday, June 26, 2025. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm followed by a service at 1:00 pm at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Homes-Westside located at 100 Lake Pointe Dr., officiated by Lyn Zahorik.
