We are heartbroken to share that Evelyn Malcolm, age 87, of Lake Country, British Columbia, peacefully passed away on June 7, 2026. She was surrounded by her loving family during her final moments after a short illness.

Evelyn was born on March 19, 1939, in Port Arthur, Ontario. She lived a rich and vibrant life and leaves behind a family and community that will hold her dear in their hearts.

She will be fondly remembered by her daughter, Tracy Clark and husband Andy; her son, Terry Kosolowski and wife Lindsey; and her stepdaughter, Kim Drew. She took great joy in being a grandmother to Elysha Herridge, Teddy Van Lieshout and Jen, Travis Van Lieshout, Keenan Kosolowski and Chelsea, Nicole Aho and Terry. As a step-grandmother, she loved Tara, Alisan, Jesse, Jacob, Krissy, and Dan. Additionally, she was a proud great-grandmother to Brianne, Oliver, Cael, Theo, Kyla, and Ivy; as well as step-great-grandmother to Carter, Colton, and Bowen.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents Frances Campbell and James Malcolm; her sister Lorraine Halverson; along with brothers David (Joyce) Malcolm, Frank (Sharron) Malcolm; and Larry (Jean) Malcolm. Surviving are her sister Judy Adams and brother Duncan (Bev) Malcolm along with numerous extended family members and friends.

Evelyn was deeply loved by everyone who knew her. She had an exceptional talent for cooking-her famous pierogies and cabbage rolls were always the highlight of family gatherings. Those who got to enjoy them knew there’s nothing quite like Evelyn’s kitchen creations.

She cherished the time spent at the camp on Lake Innes where she relished the tranquility-no electricity or running water-just the calming beauty of nature around her. Fishing was one of her favorites along with sewing crafts or working on puzzles while enjoying some time away from daily life. A sauna followed by some skinny-dipping captured the spirit of freedom she found while at camp.

In later years Evelyn faced tough challenges after suffering a stroke that limited many of her activities but didn’t change the essence that made Evelyn who she was.

A highlight in recent times for Evelyn was the unique bond formed with her granddaughter Elysha. Following Elysha to British Columbia helped them create an incredibly close relationship full of love that will forever remain an important part of both their lives as well as for their entire family’s memories of Evelyn.

Evelyn’s life revolved around family connections filled with laughter good food adventures creating countless cherished memories together. Her absence will leave an unfillable void but all those stories traditions recipes love shared within families continue onward.

After being cremated Evelyn’s ashes have returned home where they rest peacefully.

A Celebration of Life for Evelyn will take place on September 27 from 1:00 to 5:00 p. m. at Current River Recreation Center. Family members alongside friends are invited to gather together sharing memories laughter stories celebrating all that made up beautiful life of Evelyn.
