Official Obituary

Honoring Colin Cummins

Colin Cummins, a vital part of the Canadian baseball community and a loving family man, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2026, in Mississauga, Ontario, surrounded by his family’s love.

Colin’s life revolved around his strong passion for baseball. As a player, coach, mentor, and owner of the Ontario Giants, he committed himself to the sport at every level. To Colin, baseball was more than just a game-it meant everything to him. He was always at the diamond and never missed a chance to “talk ball” with anyone willing to listen, sharing his extensive knowledge and contagious enthusiasm for the sport he adored.

Beyond scores and trophies, Colin’s true impact was felt through the people around him. He was known for his giving nature, always going out of his way to make sure his players and coaches received the attention and support they needed. He didn’t just develop athletes; he nurtured character in everyone who had the honor of knowing him.

Although he will be greatly missed on the field, his greatest joy came from being with family. Colin was the devoted husband of Jennifer and immensely proud father of two wonderful kids, Sydnei and Logan.

He is survived by his mother, Juliette (Cummins), father Lionel (Roberts), and brother Don (Cummins). His extended family, many friends, and generations of ballplayers he inspired will fondly remember him.

Colin’s kindness, mentorship, and love for baseball will continue to resonate through all those whose lives he touched. He leaves behind a commitment that will always be remembered.
