Family and friends can certainly agree that Cheryl Larin embraced every single day with enthusiasm. She was a steady pillar of support, even when times were tough. Nothing made Cheryl happier than being surrounded by her family and friends. Her kind heart touched the lives of many, and she always went out of her way to lend a hand to those around her. Deeply loved, Cheryl will be greatly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
The late 1950s were known for significant social change in the United States. The civil rights movement was gaining momentum, promising hope for many people, while the country also enjoyed an economic upswing and advancements that improved daily life. It was during this vibrant time that Doyle “Jack” and Evelyn Ruth (Lair) Harper from Grand Rapids, Michigan, eagerly awaited their second child. On May 30, 1957, they welcomed their daughter, Cheryl Ann, into their family.
As a child, Cheryl was much like any girl of her generation. She grew up in a loving home as the middle child among three girls. Her father Jack worked in a factory while her mother Evelyn sewed clothes at home. Jack taught Cheryl how to cook, fish, change tires, and be self-sufficient. From early on, she was known for her playful spirit and love for practical jokes but also for being incredibly generous. After reading about a teen involved in an accident one time, she and her sister decided to bring him flowers to cheer him up. Following her parents’ divorce and their remarriages, Cheryl’s family expanded with new siblings added into the mix. She attended local schools such as East Leonard Elementary School, West Middle School, and Central High School before starting work as a waitress at Little Mexico-a well-loved restaurant on the NW side of Grand Rapids.
Anyone who knew Cheryl would agree that above all else; she treasured her family most dearly. At one of her father’s performances at the Venture Inn in Grand Rapids, she met someone who would become her husband. Together they welcomed four wonderful children-Yolonda, Timothy, Shaun, and Tricia-into their lives. Being a mom brought out the best in Cheryl; it was truly what she loved most about life! She enjoyed teaching them how to cook or playing games like “monkey,” not to mention pulling pranks on them too! She encouraged them to explore freely without restrictions or worries about getting messy while discovering life’s fun surprises together as a stay-at-home mom.
In 2003 came a turning point when Cheryl met Mike Larin-the man she’d call her soul mate-for the first time through an AOL chat room connection! Mike hailed from Frankford Ontario where he had three young kids himself already! After chatting online for over a year they finally decided it was time to meet face-to-face when she traveled across state lines all way up north just so she could get acquainted with his family there! Their bond only grew stronger after this initial encounter leading up until December 30th of 2004 when they tied-the-knot right inside Coopersville Michigan-celebrating unity together forevermore afterward living happily ever after down south whereupon moving closer towards each other meant embracing his three children Jasmin Misha & Joseph whom quickly became like hers too! They created beautiful memories together camping trips relaxing boat rides & eventually sharing joy-filled moments watching grandchildren grow older filling hearts with immense pride!
Cheryl actively engaged herself within various communities-from work settings volunteering efforts even church activities throughout life despite raising kids alone for some years until then taking on nursing aid role later thereafter assisting elderly residents back home Christian Rest Home post motherhood before transitioning again over towards Campbellford working directly within care centers supporting developmentally disabled adults where felt entirely appreciated hence enjoying every moment spent here prior eventually retiring finally settling down fully dedicating herself toward faith strong belief systems practicing values passed down onto next generations continuing traditions established before attending Grand Valley Baptist Church growing stronger through collective faith journeys alongside beloved ones nearby always helping others whenever possible becoming happiest doing so!
Always busybody never wanting any idle hours wasted led Cheryl into picking hobbies keeping herself active outside gardening tending large vegetable patches preserving homemade goods via canning skills reaping rewards summertime bonfires accompanied by laughter echoing around backyard gatherings taking great pride caring fur babies along knitting projects emerging later favorite pastimes finding solace through music singing dancing kitchen rhythms reminiscent artists like Judds Vince Gill Randy Travis Patsy Cline tuning cheers weekly evening entertainment choosing shows such Naked Afraid Survivor Alone bowling leagues horror flicks evenings motorcycle rides soaking scenery outdoors overlooking Trent River views from deck basking sunshine life could offer around!
A look back upon happy memories reveals both strength unwavering love shown towards family surrounding individuals fortunate enough cross paths share joyous experiences built relationships gave meaning longevity itself lived example kindness servicing fellow humans shared encouraging words making sure voices remained heard fueled fires friendships blossoming easily creating lasting impressions formed friendships strengthened bonds forged alongside devotion shown continuously across every endeavor pursued actively participating passionately till very end leaving behind inspiring legacy carried forward proudly those who follow suit honoring everything learned upon journey filled utmost gratitude measured alongside endless affection poured forth nurtured throughout entire lifetime fulfilling promises made witnessed growth dreams accomplished paving ways future generations trailblazing ahead shining bright!”
