January 11, 1948 – January 27, 2026

Caroline May Goulding left us peacefully on January 27, 2026, at the age of 78. She will be fondly remembered for her love of family, her kind nature, and her quiet strength.

Caroline was preceded in death by her parents, Thora Gorrell (Melby) and Wylie Gorrell; her brothers Delford Gorrell and Ken Gorrell; as well as her sisters Melody Ferguson and Trudy Kostynik. She was also predeceased by her step-son, Patrick Douglas Kerry Goulding.

She is survived by her loving husband, Ross Goulding, along with a family that meant the world to her. Caroline was a proud mother and grandmother who held each of her children and grandchildren close to her heart:

· Melody Gordon (Andre’) and family

· Stacie and Christopher

· Tyler and son Owen

· Donna Townes (Scott) and children

· Kyle and Talon

· Karrie Bank (Chris) and children

· Ridge and Brendon

· David Dolph (Jennifer) and children

· Andrew, Dyna, and Austin

· She had a total of 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Caroline is also survived by her brothers Wayne Gorrell (Noella), William Gorrell (Nina), Dale Gorrell (Jolene); sister Penny Fitzpatrick; sister-in-law Jan; brother-in-law Bill Ferguson; step-son Dean (Diane); along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Her greatest joy came from being with family. Caroline loved hosting gatherings where everyone would come together to enjoy food, laughter, and stories. Cooking was a passion of hers-she particularly loved baking bread-and she took pride in caring for her garden because it brought her peace.

A significant part of Caroline’s life was spent working at Manitouwadge High School as the Attendance Counsellor. This role meant so much more than just work-it was truly a calling for her. Caroline cared deeply about the students’ welfare and consistently went above and beyond to help them through tough times. Her dedication made a lasting impact on many young lives.

The family plans to honor Caroline’s life with a service at a later date.

They would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre including the ICU team for their compassion, professionalism, and kindness during this challenging time. A special thanks goes out to Nurses Julie and Cal on 2B for their attentive care when we arrived-your warmth will always be remembered.

The family is sincerely thankful for all the prayers, compassion, and support they have received during this time.

Condolences may be made through www. nwfainc. com
