Anne Maarit Weber was born on March 24th, 1968, to Matti Kalervo Syrja and Sirkka Annikki (Pieniniemi) Syrja in Canada. Her parents came from Finland when her sister, Mervi, was a small child, making Anne a first generation Canadian Finn. She married John Aaron Weber in Calgary, Alberta, Canada on December 22nd, 1990: 35 years, 8 months, and 24 days.

Now she’s running, jumping, and dancing on the streets of gold after a long struggle of about 15 years with degenerative disc disease and the pain that came with it. On Monday, September 15, 2025, all she wanted was to sleep. She fell asleep and didn’t wake up here. Instead, she awoke in the arms of Jesus without any pain.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Matti Syrja and Sirkka (Pieniniemi) Syrja (Canada).

She is survived by her husband John Aaron Weber and stepmother Mary Odessa Schultz Syrja. Family scattered around the globe.

About Anne:

Church Family Life:

Anne’s main focus and love were to make sure people got to know her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She wanted everyone to understand that the most important question in life is:

“Does God know my name?” So right now she would be asking you: “Does God know your name?” Nothing else mattered. Jesus Christ loves you and he died on the cross then rose again to offer you eternal life and save you from an eternity in hell where sorrow, pain, fire, thirst, and isolation never end. It’s through His shed blood that He gave His life for you so you wouldn’t face eternal damnation.

She dedicated herself wholeheartedly to church family life wherever she went. She served as a Pastor’s helper. Anne loved making people smile with her huge enthusiasm and care for others more than herself (sometimes at her own expense). Her involvement in church activities created a wide circle of influence. Whether it was assisting pastors or staff members or engaging with visitors-she took part in theatre productions, led kids’ choirs, organized Bible studies and prayer groups; befriended those less fortunate or simply listened-her zest for life spread joy everywhere.

Community Theatre:

This vibrant activity prepared her well for engaging in community theatre as well. Anne took on many roles including casting calls, costuming designs, acting parts, producing shows; writing scripts; designing sets; choreographing dances; managing technical direction; creating brochures; Playbills; programs; advertising materials; t-shirts; merchandise-and so much more.

Digital Graphic Artist:

Anne was recognized for her freelance work as a digital graphic artist; many sought her out for custom designs related to digital graphics like custom t-shirts apparel merchandise programs playlists video presentations Power Point slides advertising posters etc.

Special Gratitude:

She felt especially thankful towards Mayo Clinic Hospital in Rochester MN for their support during her health challenges. They provided hope over the last few years which made things feel brighter.

A memorial service will be scheduled later with details announced soon.
