An Oakville man has been taken into custody as part of an investigation into a robbery and assault that occurred outside a downtown Toronto hotel earlier this spring.

According to Toronto Police, the incident happened around 4:30 a. m. on April 25th near Bay Street and Adelaide Street West.

Investigators claim that the victim was in line to check into a hotel when a verbal argument with a group ahead escalated into violence. During this altercation, the victim was reportedly assaulted and had his personal belongings stolen before the suspects ran away on foot.

Police had previously announced that three male suspects were arrested, while two others were still being sought.

On Tuesday, May 19th, police apprehended 32-year-old Nadeem Ali from Oakville. He faces charges of robbery and assault causing bodily harm.

On Monday, May 25th, officers took 24-year-old Mahad Awan from Brampton into custody. He is also charged with robbery and assault causing bodily harm.

Authorities believe there were five suspects involved in total. With these recent arrests, all five individuals are now in police custody.

Toronto Police are looking for an Oakville man in relation to a robbery investigation in downtown Toronto.

The event took place around 4:30 a. m. on April 25th, in the vicinity of Bay Street and Adelaide Street West. Investigators say that the victim waiting to check into a hotel got caught up in a verbal dispute with some suspects which turned physical. During this attack, personal items belonging to the victim were reportedly stolen before the suspects escaped on foot.

Authorities mention that five individuals were involved in total. Three have already been arrested and charged with robbery and assault causing bodily harm.

Police have identified another suspect as Nadeem Ali from Oakville, aged 32, who is wanted for charges of robbery and assault causing bodily harm.

Ali is described as:

male between 28 and 35 years old medium build short black spiky hair short black beard with medium to long facial hair wearing a black puffy jacket with “SUPREME” written across the chest, a black AMIRI t-shirt and blue jeans at the time of the incident

Investigators are also trying to identify an unnamed fifth suspect described as thin-built with a short black beard who wore a black BALENCIAGA t-shirt, grey or white hoodie, ripped grey jeans, white sneakers and glasses with thin metallic frames.
