The town of Oakville is getting into the holiday spirit, turning its streets into a festive wonderland starting this month. Every corner will host its own celebration, with many decorations lighting up the night sky until December.

With twinkling lights, tree-lighting events, unique shopping options, dining experiences, and holiday happenings, you won’t want to miss heading west of Toronto for all the fun.

Things to Do in Oakville During the Holidays

If you think Toronto will be packed, think again. Oakville has announced an exciting lineup of holiday activities for everyone to enjoy.

Imagine twinkling lights, festive markets, seasonal shows and much more. Here are some events you should check out:

Light up the Night – Downtown Oakville will glow with its annual tree lighting ceremony, cheerful holiday spirit, and seasonal activities like the beloved Sugar Plums in Towne Square. When: Nov. 14, 2025
Time: 5 p. m. to 9 p. m. Oakville Santa Claus Parade- This year’s theme is Snow Much Fun! It celebrates winter activities like skating, sledding, snowball fights and all those snowy adventures that make the season special. A free Santa Shuttle from Oakville GO Station to Trafalgar Park Community Centre parking lot will be available. When: Nov. 15, 2025Time: 9 a. m. At Home in Bronte for the Holidays – The lovely Market Square in Bronte will shine bright as it hosts its annual tree lighting ceremony-an ideal way to kick off the holiday festivities. When: Nov. 22, 2025Time: 3 p. m. to 7 p. m. Kerr Village Tree Lighting and Holiday Market – Join Kerr Village for a joyful tree lighting event followed by a Holiday Pop Up Market with live music entertainment. The tree lighting starts at 5:30 p. m. When: Nov. 29, 2025Time: 1 p. m. to 6 p. m. Holiday Lights by the Lake – One of Oakville’s favorite traditions is the Holiday Lights by the Lake at Coronation Park; it’ll brighten up the waterfront with over 130,000 sparkling lights throughout this holiday season When: Dec. 1, 2025 to February 2026Downtown Oakville’s Hometown Holiday Cheer – Enjoy family-friendly activities such as Candy Cane Carollers, Horse-Drawn Carriage Rides, Photos with Santa, Hot Cocoa and much more. When: Nov. 29; Dec. 6; Dec 13; Dec 20 , 2025Time: Noon to 4 p. m.

“Each year , Oakville becomes a destination for holiday magic and heartwarming holiday moments,” said Rebecca Edgar , executive director of Visit Oakville.

“From cozy museum events to dazzling lights by the lake , we invite guests to stay a little longer , immerse themselves in the festive spirit , and make lasting memories.”
