The Toronto Police Service announced on Friday that it has filed additional hate crime and riot charges against some of the six individuals arrested on November 5, 2025, following a disruption at a private pro-Israel event.

“The new charges include ‘public incitement of hatred’ and ‘take part in a riot while masked,’” said Myron Demkiw, chief of the Toronto Police Service.

“This shows our investigations are ongoing and that we can lay charges long after an incident,” the chief remarked. “Since October 7, 2023, the Toronto Police Service has made over 517 arrests and laid more than 1,275 charges related to demonstrations, protests, and hate-motivated offenses. Our officers continue to uphold the law every day.”

Toronto police took six individuals into custody for their involvement in disrupting the private event in 2025. The rioters are accused of breaking into a building, damaging property, and entering an area where attendees had gathered. “Their actions caused those present to fear for their safety,” stated the police department. “One person suffered injuries from broken glass during the forced entry.

“While making arrests, some of those involved obstructed officers; one individual even assaulted an officer in an effort to prevent an arrest,” added the department.

The department reported new charges against four of those six individuals on Friday. Two face new counts each of “public incitement of hatred targeting members of the Israeli community.”

The charged individuals include Qabil Ibrahim, 26, from Toronto, who was also charged with rioting while masked; Fatimah Mugni, 23, also from Toronto, charged with rioting and participating in an unlawful assembly while masked as well as incitement of hatred and mischief interference with enjoyment of property; along with Nicole Baiton, 25, from Oakville, and Kiana Alexis, 22 from Toronto-both facing charges for rioting and unlawful assembly while masked along with incitement of hatred and mischief interference.

The accused allegedly disrupted a Students Supporting Israel chapter event at Toronto Metropolitan University.
