In a information launch, the council introduced Victoria Pruden might be its new president, changing Cassidy Caron, whose time period expired in September.
The Métis Nationwide Council has been in a state of flux after the Manitoba Métis Federation pulled out of the group in 2021, adopted by the latest departures of the Métis Nation of Saskatchewan and the Métis Nation of British Columbia.
It is unclear who was heading the council earlier than the election, and the one two remaining members are the Métis Nation of Alberta and the Métis Nation of Ontario.
The Métis Nationwide Council says Pruden will work towards advancing the rights and aspirations of Métis throughout the homeland.
It provides the council will proceed to fulfil the imaginative and prescient of its ancestors whereas paving the way in which for future generations.
