Two individuals, including one from Brampton, have been charged following a fight that escalated into a robbery in Toronto.
The event took place around 4:30 a. m. on April 25 at a hotel located near Bay Street and Adelaide Street West, according to the Toronto Police Service.
Investigators report that a victim was waiting to check into the hotel when they got into “a verbal altercation” with guests ahead of them in line. That’s when police say the victim was attacked, and their belongings were stolen before the suspects ran away on foot.
Three suspects had already been arrested earlier, and police announced on Wednesday that two more individuals have now been charged.
The accused are Nadeem Ali, 32, from Oakville, and Mahad Awan, 24, from Brampton; both have been arrested and charged with robbery and assault causing bodily harm.
The defendants were set to appear in court in Toronto late last month.
