The Victoria Day long weekend is here, and fireworks displays are set to brighten up areas in Toronto and the surrounding GTA once again.

Victoria Day falls on the third Monday of May, honoring the birthday of Queen Victoria.

This holiday gives residents a chance to enjoy firework shows throughout the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

Here’s where you can catch fireworks close to you.

Toronto

The city’s main event will happen at Ashbridges Bay Park, featuring Victoria Day fireworks starting at 10 p. m. on Monday, May 18.

The park, located near Lake Shore Boulevard East and Coxwell Avenue, is accessible via TTC. Attendees are encouraged to take public transit and leave their cars at home.

Organizers mention that the display will conclude with an exciting grand finale, so plan to arrive early to grab a good spot.

Vaughan

If you’re in Vaughan, there are a couple of great options for enjoying fireworks this long weekend.

Vaughan Ribfest 2026 runs all weekend from Friday through Monday. In addition to delicious barbecue food, live music, and family-friendly activities, there’s a firework show planned for Sunday around 10 p. m.

If you’re heading to Canada’s Wonderland instead on Sunday, they’ll have their own firework show near Wonder Mountain starting at around 10 p. m., lasting about thirty minutes.

Mississauga

While there aren’t any official firework shows in Mississauga for Victoria Day, residents can still legally set off fireworks on private property during designated hours over the holiday period.

When celebrating Victoria Day, always prioritize safety with fireworks and open flames.

You can use fireworks at home on your private property on Monday, May 18 from 6 to 10 p. m.

Brampton

Brampton won’t have any official firework displays this year as there remains a ban on them during the long weekend.

The use or possession of fireworks could result in fines ranging from $500 up to $1,000 or even higher in extreme cases.

You can still use handheld sparklers though!

Milton

A LED light show followed by a firework display will wrap up the last standardbred horse race during Fireworks Family Night at Woodbine Mohawk Park. Entry is free with doors opening at 5 p. m.

Pickering

No official fireworks shows will be held in Pickering for Victoria Day. Residents may safely launch their own fireworks on private property between sunset and 11:00 p. m.

Markham

The City of Markham does not have plans for any official firework events. Residents looking for some excitement are encouraged to head north to Stouffville‘s annual Victoria Day Fireworks at Memorial Park.
