The Civic Holiday is on Monday, Aug. 3, 2026 in Mississauga. While many government offices and services will be closed, a number of businesses and attractions will still be available to residents.

From grocery stores and shopping malls to local eateries and entertainment venues, hours can differ, so it’s wise to check ahead before you go.

Here’s a rundown of what’s open and what’s closed in Mississauga this Civic Holiday.

Open:

Square One Shopping Centre (11 am to 6 pm) The Food District at Square One Walmart Supercentre at Square One Most stores and restaurants at Heartland Town Centre Erin Mills Town Centre (10 am to 6 pm) Dixie Outlet Mall (11 am to 6 pm) Most grocery stores (including Rabba grocery stores) Most bars and restaurants that are usually open on Mondays The Beer Store locations at 1550 Dundas St. E., 2458 Dundas St. W., 5800 Mc Laughlin Rd. (11 am to 6 pm) Some LCBO stores (call/check ahead) Most Shoppers Drug Marts Movie theatres YMCA health and fitness centre in Mississauga – along with other locations across the GTA (8 am to 4 pm) Celebration Square wading pool, spray pads throughout the city (modified hours), and outdoor pools (modified hours) For urgent homelessness supports, including food, supplies, referrals and shelter, call the Street Helpline anytime at 1-877-848-8481. Other major malls near Mississauga that are open:

Bramalea City Centre (11 am to 6 pm) Toronto Premium Outlets (10 am to 9 pm) Vaughan Mills (11 am to 7 pm) Sherway Gardens (11 am to 6 pm) Yorkdale Shopping Centre (11 am to 6 pm)

Closed:

Government offices (City of Mississauga and Region of Peel) City Hall Region of Peel non-emergency services including Access Peel Counters, Dental Services Contact Centre, Early Years and Child Care Services, Family Health Call Centre, Vaccination Clinics, Healthy Sexuality Clinics and Housing Services/Client Services Banks Libraries Some community centres Canada Post (no mail pickup or delivery)

Transit:

Mi Way will run on a regular Sunday schedule GO Transit will operate on a Saturday schedule Trans Help: All trips for Monday, Aug. 3 and Tuesday, Aug. 4 need to be booked by 7 p. m. on Sunday, Aug. 2 by calling 905-791-1015. (Trans Help office will be closed on Monday, Aug. 3)

Garbage collection:

No waste collection on Monday, Aug. 3. Garbage and recycling will be picked up one day later than usual Community Recycling Centres will not be open on Monday, Aug. 3 but will reopen on Aug. 4 INsauga’s Editorial Standards and Policies
