A 78-year-old resident of Mississauga is facing drug-related charges following a traffic stop in Ontario’s cottage country near Midland late Wednesday night.
According to the Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police, an officer was performing routine patrols on Highway 400 in Georgian Bay Township when they stopped a southbound vehicle around 11 p. m.
After a short investigation at the location, the officer arrested the driver, as stated by OPP in a news release on Thursday.
The man from Mississauga is charged with possession of property obtained through crime exceeding $5,000, possession of opioids, and two counts of driving while under suspension.
He has been held for a bail hearing and is set to appear for the first time in Bracebridge court on Thursday.
