Man’s death in fall from Mississauga condo building under police watchdog investigation

One person has died, and Ontario’s police watchdog is looking into an incident where someone fell from a condo building in Mississauga.

The tragic event took place at a location on Kingsbridge Garden Circle near Eglinton Avenue and Hurontario Street on Wednesday morning, according to Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit.

Peel Regional Police officers “were present at the time of the man’s death,” and the SIU has been notified, activating its mandate – which covers investigations of police incidents in Ontario that involve death, serious injury, gunfire, or sexual assault claims.

The SIU hasn’t released details about the victim or given any information regarding the nature of the incident through Peel police. The agency mentioned there will be “more information to follow.”

In November 2025, the SIU began investigating the fatal fall of an 18-year-old man at Square One Shopping Centre’s parkade. The SIU determined that the man intentionally rolled off the edge of the structure, and officers on-site had no “reasonable opportunity” to intervene or prevent what happened.

Anyone who has been affected by an incident under SIU investigation can reach out to the Affected Persons Program for support by calling 1-877-641-1897. Services are free, confidential, and available 24/7.

The SIU is on scene investigating after a man’s fatal fall from a condo on Kingsbridge Garden Circle (Eglinton Ave/Hurontario St) in Mississauga this morning.

As @Peel Police officers were present at the time of the man’s death, the SIU was notified and invoked its mandate. More…
