London police are reaching out to the public for help after a man was critically injured in a stabbing incident downtown.
Emergency services responded around 6:15 p. m. on Monday following reports of a stabbing on the north side of Dundas Street, just east of Adelaide Street, according to police.
Paramedics transported a man with life-threatening injuries to the hospital. Authorities have not yet found the suspect, they said.
The suspect is described as being between 20 and 25 years old. He was seen wearing a long-sleeved plaid shirt and burgundy pants.
“Police recognize that incidents involving violence in public spaces can be concerning for members of the community,” police said in a statement.
“The London Police Service takes incidents of this nature very seriously and remains committed to community safety. Officers are actively investigating this matter and will maintain a visible presence in the area as the investigation continues.”
