A significant amount of provincial funding is being allocated for a new elementary school in Kitchener.
Approximately $31.3 million is earmarked for the new school located at 365 Rosenberg Way, in the Bleams Road and Fischer-Hallman Road area of the city.
Kitchener-Conestoga MPP Mike Harris revealed the funding this week and participated in a groundbreaking ceremony.
The upcoming school will accommodate 600 students within the Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) and include 88 licensed child-care spaces.
“The investment of $31.3 million by the Ontario government for a new elementary school marks an exciting new chapter in the WRDSB,” said Maedith Radlein, Chair of the WRDSB Board of Trustees.
