Authorities are investigating a fire that occurred early Sunday at an apartment complex in Kitchener.

Regional police reported that emergency teams were dispatched to the scene near Queen Street South and Charles Street East around 4:10 a. m.

The Kitchener Fire Department managed to put out the blaze, which was thought to have started on the second floor.

So far, two residents have been located while efforts continue to reach two others. The Ontario Fire Marshall has also been notified.

No injuries have been reported as a result of this incident.

Initial assessments indicate there’s structural damage to the building, and firefighters mentioned that extensive restoration work will be necessary. Currently, there is no estimate regarding the damages incurred.

The cause of the fire remains undetermined at this time.
