From Feb. 2 to March 6, Ontarians are encouraged to nominate a police officer in their community who has gone above and beyond to keep their city safe.
The Police Association’s press release states that there are five awards available for officers:
- On-Duty Difference Maker – Uniform Officer (a police officer who has exceeded job expectations while on-duty).
- On-Duty Difference Maker – Civilian Police Service Employee (a civilian employee who has exceeded job expectations while on-duty).
- The Extra Mile Award (for a police officer or civilian employee who performed an extraordinary act of kindness or bravery while off duty).
- Community Role Model (for an individual who has made significant contributions outside work over time).
- The Police Hero Honour Roll Award (recognizing an officer or civilian employee for making a lasting impact over ten years).
