Officers from the Lennox and Addington (L& A) County Detachment of the OPP were called out around 7:15 a. m. on Thursday, Jun. 18, 2026, to respond to the scene of a collision that took place on Taylor-Kidd Boulevard near County Road 6. Emergency services from Loyalist Township also attended.

Sergeant Erin Cranton, Media Relations Coordinator for the OPP East Region, confirmed there were two vehicles involved in the incident: one car with both a driver and passenger and a dump truck driven by just one person.

“The dump truck went in the ditch,” Cranton told Kingstonist. “There was a passenger in the car at the time of the collision. Both the driver and passenger were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.”

The dump truck involved in the collision ended up in the ditch off Taylor-Kidd Boulevard in Loyalist Township. Submitted photo.

At approximately 8:05 a. m., OPP East Region announced via social media that Taylor-Kidd Boulevard was closed between County Road 6 and Coronation Boulevard due to the accident. The road remained shut down for about three hours while investigators worked at the scene and cleaned up.

According to OPP reports, the driver of the car, who is a 36-year-old from Lennox and Addington County, faced charges for:
