Emergency crews respond to a fire near Ontario Shipyards on Jan. 13, 2026 (Keith Johnson/CHCH News).

Hamilton police report that five boats stored in a dry dock were damaged by fire near Hillyard and Ship streets overnight.

Officers say they received calls for assistance at 3:14 a. m. today to help Hamilton Fire with the vessels ablaze.

The boats were located within a fenced area.

Police state their arson investigator will be looking into the scene.
