Commuters had a rough start to their day as a two-car accident on the QEW heading towards Toronto at the ramp for Fruitland Road caused all lanes to close temporarily.
At approximately 6:21 a. m., the Ministry of Transportation announced on social media that all lanes were shut down due to the accident while they worked on clearing it up.
The Ontario Provincial Police informed CHCH News that the incident involved two passenger vehicles, with injuries reported that are not life-threatening.
Later, around 7:41 a. m., the ministry updated that one lane had been reopened, and further updates indicated that the scene was cleared, although they mentioned that the left shoulder and two left lanes remained closed.
