C. – A majority of Americans still view Canada (80%) and Great Britain (76%) positively, but these ratings have seen a notable decline over the past year, hitting new lows according to Gallup’s latest findings. Declining Favorability Among Republicans
Given these tensions, Republicans’ approval ratings for Canada have plummeted significantly over the last year while independents’ opinions have dipped slightly; Democrats’ views remain mostly unchanged. The favorable rating for Canada among Republicans has dropped by an astonishing 23 points-from 85% in 2025 down to just 62% now-marking a significant decline compared to any previous GOP assessments of Canada.
