Provincial police have charged a 40-year-old man for allegedly making death threats against a member of Doug Ford’s government.
The investigation began on July 8 after threats were directed at MPP Todd Mc Carthy, who serves as the Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks.
Erik Adler from Burlington was taken into custody and faces two counts of uttering threats to cause death.
As per police reports, he has been released on bail and is set to appear in court again on August 11.
No additional details about the specifics of the threats have been disclosed.
This marks the second arrest in just three days concerning death threats made against an elected official.
A 29-year-old man was arrested by Peel Region police on Tuesday for allegedly threatening Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown back in June.
