Students and a bus driver managed to get out safely from a school bus fire on Thursday morning.

Emergency responders were called to the scene on Innis Lake Road in Caledon East, according to the Ontario Provincial Police, around 8:30 a. m.

The police confirmed that everyone, including all students and the driver, got off without injuries.

There were 44 high school students aboard, an OPP spokesperson informed INsauga. com.

Currently, the fire is considered non-suspicious and seems to have resulted from mechanical issues, as stated by the spokesperson.

Innis Lake Road was shut down between Old Church Road and Atchison Drive. By 2:22 p. m., the OPP reported that the road had fully reopened.

Authorities advised drivers to take alternative routes.
