A Brampton truck driver, charged within the lethal crash that killed a Manitoba mom and daughter, has fled after being handled in hospital for the accidents he suffered.
The RCMP say the person was taken to hospital following the Nov. 15 crash at a freeway intersection close to Altona, about 100 km south of Winnipeg.
A 35-year-old woman, a driver of an SUV, was pronounced deceased on the scene. Her 8-year-old daughter was taken to hospital with life-threatening accidents and later died.
Police say the tractor-trailer truck went by means of a cease signal and struck the SUV.
Immediately (Nov. 21), police say they can’t discover 25-year-old Navjeet Singh of Brampton following his launch from hospital.
Singh is charged with two counts of harmful operation of a motorized vehicle inflicting demise and with obstructing a peace officer.
“Officers have attempted to locate Mr. Singh in Winnipeg without success and as a result, a Canada-Wide Warrant of Arrest has been issued,” reads an announcement launched by the RCMP.
Investigators imagine the person could possibly be in Brampton.
