Officers from the Peel Regional Police’s 22 Division Criminal Investigations Bureau (CIB) have taken five men from Brampton into custody related to an ongoing dispute involving tow trucks.
On October 31, 2025, police were called to a report of a brawl among several tow truck operators at the intersection of Kennedy Road South and Orenda Road in Brampton. When they arrived, officers found three victims who had been attacked with a metal pole; two of them also suffered bear spray assaults and needed medical care.
Following an extensive investigation, the following individuals were arrested and charged on January 14, 2026:
* Rishav Chopra (27)
Utter Threats to Cause Bodily Harm or Death Assault Assault Cause Bodily Harm (two counts) Administering Noxious Thing with Intent to Cause Bodily Harm (two counts) Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose.
* Jashandeep Singh (34)
Utter Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm Assault with a Weapon (three counts)
* Harmandeep Singh (27)
* Tajinder Chopra (20) and Varun Aul (32)
All those charged were released under conditions.
