Police have arrested a man from Brampton and charged him with second-degree murder following the discovery of a body in Orillia.
The OPP reported that officers arrived at Scouts Valley Trail around 7:10 p. m. on Tuesday, where they found one person deceased. While details about the victim have not been shared, authorities labeled the death as “suspicious.”
On Wednesday, law enforcement announced that their investigation led to the arrest of a suspect from Brampton. The OPP identified Devon Alamina, 33, from Brampton, as being charged with second-degree murder.
Residents will notice an increased police presence in the Scouts Valley Trail area; however, investigators assure that there is no ongoing threat to public safety.
Authorities are encouraging anyone who was in or around Scouts Valley Trail on Tuesday evening to reach out to police.
