Four Beer Store locations will be closing in Ontario this weekend.

This is part of the latest wave of closures for the company as the province’s alcohol market expands, allowing alcohol sales at many more places, including convenience stores.

“We are making the tough decision to close these retail stores…. The retail marketplace in Ontario continues to evolve and stabilize. As a business, we are focused on operating a retail network that meets evolving consumer needs, providing the largest selection of beer and a world-class deposit return system,” said Ozzie Ahmed, the vice president of retail at The Beer Store.

The most recent closure was on Jan. 18 when a Beer Store shut down in Oshawa.

<p Before that, three locations closed on Jan. 11 – one each in Haliburton, Schomberg, and Whitby.

This Sunday, four more stores will close-one each in Brampton, Etobicoke, Hamilton, and London.

Here’s a list of the locations closing at the end of business on Sunday:

Brampton – 11 Worthington Avenue Etobicoke – 1735 Kipling Avenue Hamilton – 75 Centennial Parkway North London – 1727 Richmond Street

Ahmed mentioned that there will still be Beer Stores open in those areas.

The Beer Store provided alternative store options for each location. Here’s what they listed:

Brampton

55 Charolais Boulevard 180 Sandalwood Parkway East 932 N. Park Drive 80 Peel Centre Drive 2890 Queen Street East

Etobicoke

1530 Albion Road 3560 Lake Shore Boulevard West 666 Burnhamthorpe Road

Hamilton

135 Highway 8 282 Parkdale Avenue North 1462 Main Street East 959 Fennell Avenue East 673 Upper James Street 150 Barton Street East

London

1080 Adelaide Street North 552 Hamilton Road 1600 Dundas Street East 1199 Oxford Street West 1005 Wellington Road 3069 Wonderland Road South

You can find a complete list of Beer Store locations on the company’s website.
