A commercial vehicle was reportedly recorded at 103 km/h in a 60 km/h zone; the vehicle has been impounded and the driver’s licence suspended, according to police.

A 31-year-old man from Brampton is facing charges for stunt driving after officers from the Ontario Provincial Police clocked a commercial motor vehicle going over 40 km/h above the speed limit in Ramara Township.

The OPP stated that members of the Central Region Traffic Team were on routine patrols on County Road 47 near Sideroad 5 on May 11 when they noticed a commercial vehicle speeding.

Police claim that the vehicle was travelling at a speed of 103 km/h in an area marked for 60 km/h.

Lovedeep Singh Wirring, aged 31 and residing in Brampton, has been charged with stunt driving.

Due to this charge, authorities have impounded the vehicle for two weeks, and the driver’s licence will be suspended for one month.

The OPP reminds drivers that speeding and aggressive driving can create serious hazards for everyone on the road. Officers will maintain their proactive enforcement efforts throughout the region to enhance road safety.

Anyone witnessing reckless driving is encouraged to reach out to the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or report anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
