Police in Barrie, Ont., report they are looking into the discovery of bones found in a local park last week.
Investigators share that someone working close to Berczy Park reported discovering the bones there just before 1 p. m. on Friday.
They mention that the remains have been sent to the Centre of Forensic Sciences in Toronto for further analysis.
An autopsy is scheduled for Monday, and police believe the remains are human.
The entrances to the east and west walking paths of the park remain closed as investigations proceed.
Authorities say they will share more details as they become available.
