Ontario’s 24 public faculties are packing their picket-line parkas away this 12 months.


After greater than six months of negotiations, the OPSEU bargaining unit representing over 15,000 school school throughout Ontario signed a Memorandum of Settlement Wednesday.


Georgian School’s OPSEU union consultant Anita Arvast mentioned she obtained phrase of the memorandum late Tuesday night.


“Now it can go to binding arbitration,” Arvast mentioned Wednesday morning.


“I am completely exhausted and so relieved.”


After spending the week readying trailers for the picket traces, organizing schedules for the 800 members throughout all of Georgian’s campuses, she’s grateful to see a decision.


The memorandum provides vital profit features, particularly for part-time members who embody 75 per cent of the workforce, she mentioned.
