The Ontario Fire Marshal is examining a fire that broke out at a home on Charlbrook Avenue in north Barrie just after midnight on Monday, located near Bayfield Street and Cundles Road East.
Fire officials report that injuries at the site were not caused by the fire itself, and Barrie Police have secured the location.
They confirm that the house was completely engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived.
According to police reports, two individuals were taken to a nearby hospital as a precaution for potential smoke inhalation, while one woman was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Those individuals have since been discharged from the hospital.
Authorities are also reaching out to the public for assistance in finding a dog that went missing around Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre during the night.
The owner’s phone was lost in the fire, so no pictures of the dog are available.
The dog is described as a small mixed breed with grey and white fur.
