Schreiber OPP reports that a black Honda Civic was caught Saturday evening speeding at 102 kilometres per hour in a 60-km/h zone on Highway 17 in Terrace Bay.

A man from Barrie has been charged after police say he was driving nearly double the speed limit Saturday evening in Terrace Bay, which is on the northern shore of Lake Superior.

Just before 8 p. m. on May 30, Schreiber OPP says the black Honda Civic was detected by radar going 102 kilometres per hour in a 60-km/h zone on Highway 17.

The 29-year-old from Barrie, whose name hasn’t been disclosed, has been charged with stunt driving under the Highway Traffic Act.

His driver’s licence has also been suspended for 30 days, and his vehicle will be impounded for two weeks.

The driver is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
