A crash involving a dump truck near Barrie has left one person dead, according to police.
Ontario Provincial Police reported that around 6:40 a. m., emergency responders arrived at Highway 26 close to Strongville Road in Springwater Township for a two-vehicle accident between a passenger vehicle and a dump truck.
The driver of the passenger vehicle, a 28-year-old from Wasaga Beach, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The dump truck driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital.
“The investigation remains ongoing with assistance from the OPP Central Region Traffic Incident Management Enforcement team,” police stated.
