NEWS RELEASE
HALTON REGIONAL POLICE SERVICE
*******************
The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is looking into a violent home invasion that took place in Burlington, along with an attempted break-in in Oakville involving the same group of suspects.

On April 22, around 3:45 a. m., five individuals arrived at a house in the Roseland area of south Burlington. They broke a glass panel on the front door, reached inside to unlock it, and quickly got inside.

The residents confronted the intruders and were asked for valuables. A physical struggle broke out, during which one resident was hit in the head with an unknown object. This injury required medical care.

The confrontation caused the suspects to flee before taking anything. No items were reported stolen.

Investigators have identified that this same group was behind an attempted break-in earlier that morning in Oakville.

At about 3 a. m., someone living in southeast Oakville heard loud banging on their front door. The suspects were seen kicking the door and using a hammer in their effort to get inside. The resident called 911, and by the time police arrived, the suspects had already run away without getting into the home.

In both cases, witnesses described seeing the suspects driving a dark-colored sedan. All five individuals are said to be males with slim builds, dressed in dark clothing, hoods, and balaclavas.

Investigators are asking anyone who might have video footage (dashcam or surveillance) from around Royal Windsor Drive and Ford Drive between 2:45 a. m. and 3:10 a. m., as well as from New Street (between Walkers Line and Guelph Line) and Rossmore Boulevard between 3:30 a. m. and 4:10 a. m., to come forward.

If you have any information related to this investigation, please reach out to the 3 District Criminal Investigations Bureau at 905-825-4777 ext. 2316.

You can also submit tips anonymously through Crime Stoppers: “See something? Hear something? Know something? Contact Crime Stoppers” at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or online at www. haltoncrimestoppers. ca.
