RICHMOND HILL – Officials report that five individuals were taken to the hospital following a residential fire in Richmond Hill, located north of Toronto.

York Region Paramedic Services stated they received an emergency call about the blaze near Skywood Drive and Rollinghill Road just after 3 a. m. on Monday.

Paramedics evaluated all five patients, with four of them showing no vital signs.

The response included a multi-patient unit bus, seven ambulances, and two special response units.

According to police, three of the five hospitalized individuals have sustained life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the fire remains unknown, and officials from the Fire Marshal’s office will continue their investigation.

This report by The Canadian Press was first Sept. 1, 2025.
