George E. Larocque, 86, of Atkinson, New Hampshire, passed away on Thursday March 12, 2026, at the Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, MA, with his loving and devoted family at his bedside.
Born in Marbleton, Quebec, Canada, he was the son of the late Armand and Leonile (Perron) Larocque.
George loved his family and valued the many friendships he had over his lifetime. He spoke about his family often and with great pride. George was an amateur photographer throughout his life, utilizing his self-taught skills to capture moments from every vacation, birthday and event – images that his family will treasure and pass down through the generations. He loved ice hockey, always rooting for the Canadiens, and he played in a community league as a young man. George and his wife Mary enjoyed many vacations together including Europe, Australia and most recently Puerto Rico. He took immense pride in becoming a United States citizen in 1983, but his homeland of Canada held a special place in his heart and served as the most frequent travel destination. George enjoyed many genres of music from Rock-n-Roll to Blues and Jazz, and if you were lucky, you could hear him joyfully belting out an old tune these past few years.
George will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his cherished wife of sixty-five years, Mary (Caillouette) Larocque of Atkinson, NH, adoring daughters, Michelle Wieland of Salem, NH, and Suzanne Larocque of Hampstead, NH; treasured grandchildren Chantalle Lassus and her husband Ruben of Plaistow NH; Derek Deal and his wife Laura of Danville NH; along with six precious great-grandchildren Athena; Domenic; Adrien; Camila; Marcelo; and Natalia.
Relatives and friends are kindly asked to meet directly at Holy Angels Church of St. Luke the Evangelist Parish at 8 Atkinson Depot Rd., Plaistow NH on Saturday March 28th 2026 for George’s Funeral Mass with his urn present at 10:00 AM.
