Scholarships are available for both full-time and part-time students from Simcoe County who are starting any year of post-secondary education in Canada.

The County of Simcoe is dedicated to collaborating with its member municipalities to promote higher education. As part of the county’s long-standing Education Bursary Program, there are 21 bursaries valued at $3,000 each for students from the County of Simcoe attending a post-secondary institution in Canada. One bursary is assured for a resident from each of the 16 member municipalities within the County of Simcoe. Bursaries are open to both full-time and part-time students entering any year of post-secondary education in Canada. Students from all 16 municipalities in the County of Simcoe can apply for a bursary. This bursary program offers financial support to local residents who have been accepted into the program, making it easier to pursue post-secondary education and training. This initiative aligns with the County of Simcoe’s dedication to education as well as fostering community involvement and civic responsibility. For the fifth consecutive year, the county is teaming up with Georgian College to provide additional financial assistance for local students. Georgian College is contributing an extra $1,500 for up to five students enrolled at their college who receive a student bursary through the County of Simcoe. To be eligible, applicants must live in the County of Simcoe and: Be a resident of a participating municipality in the County of Simcoe and be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident Have graduated or be on track to graduate in the application year with an Ontario Secondary School Diploma issued by an accredited institution within the County of Simcoe* In that application year, be enrolled and beginning studies in an undergraduate program at a Canadian university or college as either a full-time or part-time student Demonstrate interest in their community through active involvement in extracurricular activities at school or participation in local organizations Qualified applicants are encouraged to fill out an online application which includes submitting a 750-word essay on a specified topic. They must also provide their Grade 12 transcript or latest post-secondary transcript, proof of high school graduation, and evidence of enrollment at a Canadian university or college in an undergraduate program.
